Just a quicky to say I'm still here.
I have a sales meeting at 11.
I wonder when it will actually start?

I would not recommend this method of hair removal...

EDIT: No, that's not me. Or Landers.

An Israeli doctor said, 'Medicine in my country is so advanced, we can take a kidney out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in six weeks.'
A German doctor said, 'That's nothing! In Germany, we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in four weeks.'
A Russian doctor said, 'In my country medicine is so advanced, we can take half a heart from one person, put it in another, and have them both looking for work in two weeks.'
The English doctor, not to be outdone, said 'Hah! We can take an arsehole out of Scotland, put him in 10 Downing Street and have half the country looking for work within twenty-four hours!!

Yes, lolcats are cute and funny and make you guffaw at work, alerting colleagues to the fact that you are not, in fact, working.
But do they teach you things? Are they educational?
Ladles and jellyspoons, I bring you Graphjam - the statistical equivalent of a lolcat.
And best of all, if anyone looks to see why you're laughing, instead of a cat on an invisible bicycle, they see a graph!
Seen on shinyshiny.

Ah. Yes. Now, when I said I'd post something the next day, I meant to say next week. Yes, that's it.
Anyway, here I am. Work has been a bit manic lately, I've been lumbered with helping out the girl in accounts who was getting snowed under with invoices and delivery dockets. It's unbelievable how many invoices come in every day here, I'm amazed that the company makes any money with all the cash it spends on stuff!
At the same time, I'm supposed to do both my own work in sales, and also work on a new project I was given a few weeks back to make sure our prices for stuff we buy are up to date.
There's a new guy starting on Monday to help the accounts girl so the pressure will be off then. We're having a move-round in the office this afternoon to accomodate him, but I'm not really sure what that's going to accomplish as moving furniture, in my experience at least, does not automatically prompt a new computer to appear on a desk. There are five computers in our office, all occupied. There is also one space with a network socket where the sales rep sits on a Friday with his laptop to access emails and stuff like that. Not sure what's going to happen to him when the new guy starts, if that's where he's going!
So what have I been up to for the last few weeks. Well, the other week, I went out for a meal and drinks with the girls from the office at work. We had a fantastic curry, and then went out in Tuam, meeting up with our partners and some other people on the way. We stole a pool table (not literally, someone had put their money in and then gone out for a smoke, and we sort of started playing. They came in, we challenged them to a game, they won.) I got very, very drunk and threw up my curry. It did not taste as good on the way out.
We were supposed to be going to the Duggans' for dinner the next day. I did not. Ugh.
I must be getting old. It's a sad, sad state of affairs. I used to go out five nights a week, most nights I'd have a skinfull cos I didn't drive then so I was never designated driver, and I'd be fine the next day. The last three times I've gone out and gotten wankered I've really suffered in the morning. It's not fair! I'm turning into my dad.
Other things. OK, computer game stuff ahoy.
We got God of War 2 the other week, it's marvellous. I completed it, unlocked a load of fun things such as a fish costume (Cod of War!) and completed it again the same day.
I finished Mario Galaxy ages ago, but I'm still playing cos there's things to collect and I haven't done it yet. I've got about four to go, and they are the most fecking annoying levels ever! Several times, the wiimote has nearly gone through the telly.
Oooh! And when Bomberman comes out on the Wii, you're gonna be able to play as your Mii! How groovy is that!?
I've also been sorting out our music on the computer. Up to now, the music has been in a folder on my old computer, on the network so we can access it from wherever but we sync our iPods with that computer. We both add stuff from time to time, and it's been a pain keeping our libraries synchronised. Some of the tracks are named incorrectly, or not at all, and I go through and tidy them up periodically. That's great on my computer, but then Landers goes in, and his computer can't find em cos I've renamed em.
I've now set it so that the actual library is stored on the network too, and we both use the same one. It's slower to access it, but at least it's always up to date and there's no messing with synchronising it.
My, that was boring, wasn't it.
OK, I'm nearly done.
We have found a nice red wine we like, cheap as chips, and it was on offer last week - three for two! Result! We bought six bottles. We drank six bottles.
We watched '30 Days of Night' last week, which was quite good. It's about a town in Alaska above the Arctic Circle, where the sun doesn't come up for 30 days in winter, and a group of vampires turn up to take advantage. Some good bits, some slow bits, overall I enjoyed it.
We went out for a curry last night with the Duggans, which was laaaahvley. I had a Chicken Patala (not a patella, there were no knees in it). It was bright red, which was a bit scary, but it tasted fantastic. Not spicy, but it was sort of... vinegary. That sounds minging, but it wasn't. It just stimulated that bit at the back of your tongue. Mmmm!
So that's my two weeks. How sad. Oh well.
