Bodge it...

by scoobydoofus @ 2008-03-12 - 16:27:39

Aside from snickering about the fact that I no longer live in the UK, I would like to say that I happened to see some of the Budget announcement at lunchtime, and all of the response from the Tories, and I was (as ever) disgusted at the groans, shouts and taunts which erupted from both sides of the chamber at various points, which belonged in a school playground.

Kids, having a go at each other across a table.

I don't get it, so I'll just smile and back away slowly.

GAH. Eddie Izzard. I'm cross with you now.

I must have been laughing at something else he just said when he said that bit. Every time.

Which tour is it from?

Scanning memory, I believe it to be Unrepeatable.

It can't be, I know that one inside out, I'm sure...

*sob*

“Would you like to explain, Mr. Prime Minister, why everything’s gone wrong with something or other?” And you always get someone that says, “Well, if you remember 20 years ago… I wasn’t there, so it’s not my fault.” And then you sit down, and everyone backs you up behind you, going “Toilet paper! Toilet paper! Toilet paper in our time! Good work, mate, whatever you say…”

Yeah I found it. I blame Landers, he never lets me watch it. I haven't seen any Izzard for years!

Good, so, to clarify, in response to your post:

"Toilet paper! Toilet paper! Toilet paper in our time!"

Now I get it, I giggle and don't back away.

The best line came from David Cameron and was aimed at Ed Balls (Minister for Children).

"I know he's the Minister for Children, but could he stop acting like one."

He did look a bit like an irritating school boy when the camera focused on him after that, didn't he.

It's just so annoying that the people who supposedly run the country spend half the time calling each other names and jeering at each other!

They've got to have some fun - it's not all hot lunches and tea dances these days.
